Wargaming without Borders
A table-top gaming event supporting charities around the world.
Here we go again! With two events under our belt and having raised over $6,500 so far, we're back for another year! This time we're lending a hand to youth in need through this year's Charity, Covenant House.
What Does Covenant House Do?
Founded in 1997 Covenant House Vancouver offers a clear exit from life on the street to youth aged 16 - 24. They make this possible through a carefully designed Continuum of Care including a daily drop-in, a 54 bed residential crisis program, a transitional living program, relapse prevention and life skills training.
Each day young people go to them damaged from the abuses of their past, desperately needing love and guidance. Over the next year more than 1,300 homeless young people will go to Covenant House Vancouver and take the first steps in creating a better life for themselves by reaching out and saying, “Can you help me?”… and together we can.
If you would like to help please call (604) 638-GIFT (4438) or visit www.covenanthousebc.org.
To start things off this year we're going to try something new with a family board game day hosted at Connections Games & Comics in Vancouver on Renfrew. We'll have some local gamers with their favourite family friendly board games on hand to demonstrate and teach you how to play, maybe introduce people to new games and new friends. The hope is to promote the other events and just to get people together that aren't necessarily table top miniature gamers.
If you, or someone you know, want to come join the fun, come visit on Saturday April 15th from 12pm until 6pm! Even better? It's absolutely free to attend!
